Turkey is a transcontinental country with a growing economy, located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. A Turkish residence permit can be obtained by purchasing real estate worth at least USD 200,000 or through another qualifying investment in the national economy.
The residence permit application is submitted online through the e-Ikamet portal. Once approved, the investor receives authorization to reside in Turkey. There is no requirement to live in the country permanently.
The investor may include their spouse and children under 18 in the application. The residence permit also provides access to education at Turkish universities, quality healthcare and opportunities to do business in a market of more than 85 million consumers.

Real estate investors
An investor residence permit is suitable for those who want to protect their capital while gaining the right to live in Turkey. The minimum investment starts from USD 200,000. Property prices, particularly in major cities, continue to rise. The residence permit remains valid as long as the investor retains ownership of the property.

Investors’ family members
The investor’s immediate family members may also obtain Turkish residence permits, giving them access to healthcare and education. Major cities offer schools where instruction is provided in English, while private medical treatment may be covered by health insurance.
Digital nomads and remote workers
A residence permit may be issued for one or two years if the applicant owns or rents residential property in Turkey. Foreign nationals may stay in the country for up to 90 days with an e-Visa, but it is not a full substitute for a residence permit.
